Adorable Orphaned Polar Bear Cub (video)

Siku, a furball of a polar bear, was born last month at the Scandinavian Wildlife Park in Denmark.  However, video cameras inside the bears’ den revealed that little Siku was not getting enough milk, so the wildlife park staff intervened and removed Siku from his mother. Without this intervention, Siku would have likely perished.

Baby polar bears need 24-hour care, so now three humans must do what one mama polar bear is supposed to be doing. But the cub is so roly-poly and cute that his surrogate mamas are more than happy to miss a few hours of sleep over their new charge.

He was rescued at two days old with his eyes still shut looking very much like a newborn puppy.  At that point he weighed three pounds, but since then, he has already more than doubled his weight!

Looking at this helpless bundle of cuteness, it is hard to believe he will grow up to be a fierce predator, that when standing, could top 12 feet!

What a cute little guy. Momma bear couldn't have enough milk because of living in captivity, it's always very stressul situation for animals in zoo and many mothers can't take a proper care of babies or just rejected them....

He so cute - but sad that he had to be taken away from his mother.

Thanks for sharing. I know that many parents are afraid of keeping dog when babies have just come to…

I'd also argue that a species that RETURNS after a glacial age is not, technically, "invasive."

I have a couple of flashlights that I have to crank to power up. We keep them around for emergencie…

What would life be like without spice and all the varied uses they have?
