In the Pilots N Paws program, pets from overwhelmed kill shelters hitch a flight to communities where they will be adopted. Pilot Jeff Bennett recently flew his 1,000th animal.

Pilots N Paws is a wonderful organization. I'm a volunteer driver and have only transported 1 dog to a pilot but it was a great experience. I waited until the plane took off and it was fun to watch it leave.
My hat is off to the pilots who volunteer their time, plane, and gas to help the animals. I know that it's a very costly outing for them.
I am a volunteer driver for Pilots N Paws and that is a great bunch of people!! Sometimes we have a pilot coming in, but still need a driver or two to take the dogs or cats to their next pickup spot! So, if anyone s interested in helping, we could always use more pilots and drivers!
