Ruby, an English Lurcher dog, was hit by a car and suffered multiple fractures and other horrific injuries. Her loving owner took her to the Queens Veterinary School Hospital in Cambridge and, resisting the suggestion that she be put down, asked them to do whatever was necessary to cure her.
A team of 40 students, nurses and vets spent five weeks bringing Ruby back to health. They put in so many pieces of metal that she is being called the bionic dog.
The first video tells the basic story. The second one, on page 2, is an interesting Today Show show segment that interviews her owner, and shows Ruby happily playing. It’s such a sweet, heartwarming story.

Lucky Ruby...
Yes, it's a miracle.
Miracles do happen
So sweet. If only all people would love animals as much.
I hope Ruby won't have to spend so much time in the clinic anymore and that she will have a long, happy and healthy life.
What a heartwarming story. Thank you Ruby for the fighter you are, to the owner for getting a second opinion, and to the veterinarian staff who did not give up on Ruby.
God Bless her.
