A year ago I crashed. Literally. Going 65 mph on the freeway.
I left the office only 15 minutes before, on my way to meet a friend for dinner. I smashed into the car in front of me, and then, spinning around, with airbags deployed, crashed into the cement median.
It was loud. It was frightening. And it was downright painful. A broken clavicle, dislocated ribs, the Jaws of Life, an ambulance ride, surgery, and ouch, lots of wacky bumps and bruises.
But I was alive. I am alive. Walking, talking, breathing, singing, dancing – alive. And I am so very grateful.
I write this post, not to be macabre or dwell on the past, but rather to acknowledge and celebrate the many blessings in my life over the past year.
I am grateful for my life, for where I am today, and for the amazing healing abilities of my body and spirit. I am thankful for family and friends, colleagues, and Care2 members, who were, and continue to be, so wonderfully supportive. I am grateful for all of the angels in my life.
Life is fragile. And unpredictable. And sometimes even scary. But life is also marvelous, miraculous and magical. And for all of this, I am incredibly grateful.

the story and your Life, blesses ALL!
thank you--sometimes we need to see someone with challenges greater than our own who connected with an attitude of gratitude to be able to do likewise
Thanks for this reminder...
I am thankful for my husband, my family, my friends, my 5 beautiful cats, and being able to share when we have extra money.
I can relate.
I believe there are angels. Last summer I fell (actually toppled) off my bike onto a major street. Thank God the traffic light was red or else it could have been a lot worse than just bloody skinned elbow. For that I am full of gratitude.
I'm afraid it sounds like I'm being flippant, but I am grateful every time I hear the ring tone on my cell phone, which is the one that was pre-programmed into it. I think it might actually be a song, but I don't know the song. I just really like my ring tone!
Thanks for the article.
