The downside of warmer weather is that odor-causing bacteria now have the perfect conditions to multiply. Our feet, in particular, are prone to problems with warm-weather odor, especially when they’re confined to sports shoes. But with the help of a few kitchen-cupboard ingredients, we can keep our feet feeling cool, dry, and fresh for just pennies.

Find out how to make this simple, effective formula here:

Baking soda absorbs odors, while borax has antifungal properties and is also alkaline and deodorizing. The essential oils are antimicrobial–and they add a lovely scent.

INGREDIENTS

3 tablespoons baking soda
1 tablespoon borax
10 drops antibacterial essential oil, such as clove or rosemary

1. Combine all ingredients thoroughly and store in a glass jar with a screw top.

2. Apply a small amount of powder to feet whenever necessary.

This formula will keep indefinitely.
