The past few days have commemorated the Roman festival of Lupercalia, a pastoral and purifying event that aims to avert negativity and evil spirits while releasing health and fertility. So today let's take a page out of the Roman calendar and cleanse our own spaces. Light a sandalwood or frankincense incense stick and beginning at the front door, walk the main floor of your living space in a clockwise direction. Let the smoke clear the spaces of stagnant energies. But sure to include corners, closets and rooms with closed doors and little foot traffic. Once you've returned to the front door let the incense burn out while sitting in the center of the living space. Keep your intentions and expectations for a complete cleanse high and get rid of anything else that can keep your spirits low.
