Beyond Fear

Beyond Fear

In order to free ourselves from fear, we must leave behind that which we understand, and face what lies beyond: we must make the unknown, known.

If we stay within the confines of knowledge, we can never experience our full capacity. Even Einstein was aware of the limits of the intellect: he said Knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world. Your true greatness lies deeper than the mind: your raw, untapped potential, ready to expand and blossom in the manifest. Waiting patiently, there in the unknown void.

Dare to discover, to live with passion: to experience the fullness, joy, peace and unconditional love that lie in your heart. When you find them, you will realize that you always knew they were there, that what lay in the void was not unknown after all, but merely forgotten.

Then that fear becomes your greatest teacher, the light that leads the way forward: by walking towards fear, we continue to challenge the confines of existence, moving into ever greater awareness of our true self.

I think it was the book Dune that had a great quote about fear. I can't remember it now but it's worth looking up. Fear can be paralyzing. Breathing helps.

fear can sometimes over take your life, but the path some people has taken and made, has lead them out of this realm. and I hope to remember your path and your words. God Bless you.

It is only in facing and embracing our fears, that we can kill the dragons that haunt us. This really does work. I was a sufferer of Menieres Disease for 4 years. Towards the end of that period, totally fed up and depressed, I decided to get involved with a disadvantaged group of children, to teach them art. (A dream I had always had, but was prevented from doing it when the time came, because of my debilitating disease.) I DECIDED TO HAVE FAITH and got involved. I taught the children - all 40 of them - art once a week for 2 hours. Each week, on that day, I suffered no illness. Gradually, with changes in diet and some prescribed medication (which are only guaranteed to treat the symptoms, not the cause) - I had more and more illness free days.

Fears I had to "kill" were - lack trust that I wouldn't get sick, dangers of working in an area in South Africa which was believed to be really unsafe, struggling with a language I could not speak, and my lack of ability to actually make any difference by teaching art.
For those who do not know, Menieres disease gives one the inability to balance (terrible dizziness and nausea which can to last anything from 2 hours to 2 days at a time)-I could not stand up at all! It also causes hearing loss, which forced me to have hearing aids - (another fear and embarrasment at the time).
Today 7 years later, I am totally healed, have no more dizziness or nausea. I still teach art to children and have learned how debilitating fear can be.

" Dare to move beyond ... an inner change that changes everything externally."
You find yourself in an environment that is so totally different and meet people different from all who you knew earlier!

Still, enjoy the trip.

Thanks for posting. Good reminder.

I disagree that it's difficult to do. The difficult thing is to NOT fight ~ but to let go of fear and above all else, love.

Thank you for this article as well as your videos.

Easy to write about and understand, but hard to do!

Perfect Love casts out all fear. We need to use our reason to examine and analyze our decisions, but once we've done that to the best of our ability, we need to let go and trust, knowing that we will learn, grow, and move forward no matter what. Also, that it's perfectly normal and okay to be scared, so don't be afraid....of being afraid! It just means you're human.
