Pema Chödrön, whose teachings and writings on meditation have helped make Buddhism accessible to a broad Western audience, speaks to Bill Moyers about her view of the Buddha.
He was not a god, not someone to pray to. He was a man who had pains like all of us, but learned how to avoid suffering. In that sense, he can be a role model for us as we go about our lives.
