Seven-year-old Lorcan has an anxiety disorder called selective mutism (SM), which makes it difficult for him to talk to other people outside of his home. At home, too, he has a hard time communicating his feelings to his family. Luckily, though, he has his friend, Jessi-Cat, as his loyal sidekick. Watch this interview with Lorcan’s mom, where she details how Jessi-Cat has helped the boy express his emotions. The duo are finalists in the National Cat Award’s “best friends” category award in their native UK!
