The mouse is really a RAT but the friendship the both have is priceless. My cat found a baby possum and brought it to me to take care of. I slipped it down inside a woollen sock and took it to the Vet. My cat, has always been very very protective and caring for other animals that it would have normally eaten. All the huan cry over Cats eating animals can be a bit misleading b/c all my cats have never ever done it. This video is so precious and you can see whilst you are looking and I watched it 3 times now, you can see that cat has a very healthy relationship to the RAT and it to the Cat.

Amazing! I had a cat who would bring home a mouse friend and loved, played with it and protected it. My cats name was Alex and we named the mouse Hugo. They were friends for a long time. Alex would wait for the mouse, pick Hugo up and play w/him in the dining room. When done, Alex would transport him back to his hiding place. I got one still picture. Sadly I did not have a video camera at the time. It would never cease to amaze me!
