Celebrate National Dessert Day the Vegan Way

In addition to festive holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Hannukah, we have one more exciting “holiday” to look forward to this time of year: National Dessert Day on Sunday, October 14.
For sugar lovers around the world, this is an absolute dream day as it not only excuses but invites an all-day celebration of sweets! As a desserts lover myself, I couldn’t be more pleased with this news and am tempted to eat nothing but cake, pie and ice cream in observation of the sugary holiday. However, while I could eat sweets all day knowing my lack of self control, a little common sense will tell me that that’s not the wisest decision when it comes to my health.
Instead, I think we should all celebrate National Dessert Day in a healthier way, by enjoying some of our favorite sweet things in moderation. Since it’s fall and Halloween is just a round the corner, we’ve compiled a fall-themed desserts round-up, all of which are vegan and 100 percent delicious. These healthier-for-you treats are mostly pumpkin themed, as pumpkin is undeniably one of the healthiest super foods around this season.
