Interesting article. I am not a gum chewer and I agree with Nimue that eatting carrots can create the salava; however it doesn't do away with food particals. Thus, eat a carrot or other veggie than drink a big glass of water. American's do not drink enough water which is vital for all of our internal organs.

The act of chewing promotes saliva production, it's the chewing that helps you, not the horrid gum. Chew a carrot or some celery. Forget the gum, it's not good for your health.
