3 Colorful Cocktails for Cinco de Mayo
We couldn’t be any more excited that today is Cinco de Mayo than if it were the Fourth of July, or Halloween, or Groundhog’s Day. In other words, we like a party! Being with friends with a perfectly good excuse to celebrate, surrounded by delicious food, is good for the soul. We need exercises for happiness as much as we do physical workouts!
Whether it’s just cocktails for two or for a Mexican-themed party this evening, one (or some) of these cocktails will surely set the tone for a fun evening. They use fresh ingredients, like citrus, berries, and herbs, and are homemade, meaning they were crafted with love. The best part is, they’re pretty darn tasty.
Hand-squeezed grapefruit, lime, and just a little orange is combined with your choice of champagne or sparkling wine for a bright start to a brunch. For our Cinco de Mayo brunch menu, we also included huevos sofrito, summery black bean salad, guacamole, and homemade chorizo.
Save a little sparkling wine to top off these boldly colored margs, made with fresh blackberries, sprigs of fresh thyme, lime, and blue agave silver tequila. The muddling takes a little longer for preparation, but the taste is totally worth it. And while they’re served on ice, a run through the blender will make them perfectly frosty.
This super fruit infused cocktail could be the start of a super good time! This recipe calls for acai juice, lime, vodka, and garnish of mint and blackberries. It’s a pretty tasty way to complement a snack like this Chili and Lime Grilled Corn on the Cob.
Looking for something with a little less alcohol? Then try this Rosemary Lemonade, made with nothing more than lemons, rosemary, water, and honey.
