Do not brood over your past mistakes and failures as this will only fill your mind with grief, regret, and depression. Do not repeat them in the future.
–Swami Sivananda
As an irrigator guides water to his fields, as an archer aims an arrow, as a carpenter carves wood, the wise shape their lives.
–Buddha
I believe that the very purpose of our life is to seek happiness. That is clear. Whether one believes in religion or not, whether one believes in this religion or that religion, we all are seeking something better in life. So, I think, the very motion of our life is towards happiness.
– Dalai Lama
There is a criterion by which you can judge whether the thoughts you are thinking and the things you are doing are right for you. The criterion is: Have they brought you inner peace? If they have not, there is something wrong with them, so keep seeking! If what you do has brought you inner peace, stay with what you believe is right.
–Peace Pilgrim
Most people have come to prefer certain of life’s experiences and deny and reject others, unaware of the value of the hidden things that may come wrapped in plain and even ugly paper. In avoiding all pain and seeking comfort at all costs, we may be left without intimacy or compassion; in rejecting change and risk we often cheat ourselves of the quest; in denying our suffering we may never know our strength or our greatness.
–Rachel Naomi Remen
What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.
–Helen Keller
Sow good services: sweet remembrances will grow from them.
–Madame de Stael

I have lived a very long time. The bottom line is to learn how to like yourself and accept the things you are happiest with. When someone hurts you just look at them and think they are the ones with the problems and it is not your fault. When you accomplish this then learn how to forgive them. This is very hard to do but if you think of it this way it may help. People that hurt you have some pretty bad problems they need to realize and get help with. You have not done anything wrong to make them act the way they have. You are not responsible for others actions. Only they are. These people are the only ones that can realize they have the problems. You cannot change them.
In the Lord's Prayer it says "And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil" A debt, to me, is not just owing money. It is a deed we have done that is not nice. If we are to be forgiven for what we have done wrong then we have to learn how to forgive those that have done wrong against us. The final judging will not be from us but from God. With that in mind it will help you to understand how to forgive. We are not to judge others only to forgive, then move on. Turn away from those that hurt you. There is peace elsewhere.

The quote from the Dalai Lama was taken, I believe, from his book "The Art of Happiness". It's a beautiful book, and the Dalai Lama puts his wisdom into such simple, pure, lovely terms - I highly recommend it!

I believe life is a gift and if we do not accept it as a gift we will miss our chance for experiencing all the beauty here on earth, experience all our senses that connect us to the spiritual Creator.

Helen Keller is amazing,,,,It is so true what ever happens in life, lovers betray you, fathers, mothers abandon you ....try to remember the sweet, beautiful moments that you were able to share even if it was brief in that moment can never be taken from you hold it dear so on a cold winters night you can remember with warmth that you loved once and were loved back. Precious one be well and remember to walk in beauty before you, behind you, to the right of you to left of you , above you , below you and all around you May you walk may it be beautiful in beauty may your life continue.....
blessins in love and light DCB
are in that moment in time ....we are all doing the best we can with what life has given us to learn. Walk in beauty dear
