Are you an admirer of Marimekko’s graphic black and white ceramics, but don’t want to spend $22 for a mug? Here are a few ideas on how to recreate the look for less.
Above: Plates and bowls painted by Jennifer Hagler of A Merry Mishap. To make them, Hagler only uses affordable white china and a porcelain pen from her local crafts store.

Some of the plants are getting a bit old and weary, but it'll be fun finding the perfect replacement…
I always use white vinegar for cleaning the bathroom. It's great.

Your story didn't mention if the items are reusable immediately or must be baked in the oven ?
Love this idea. Dollar stores are a good source for inexpensive dishes and containers to decorate. I think this would be a really fun activity for a kid's party and make a good party favor.
I have tried this with a child's picture for a mother's day present . We didn't use this marker , where do I find them and do they come in colors . Thanks for sharing.
My mother was good in this... :-)
Fun idea. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, these are totally cool! I don't think I have a steady-enough hand for it but I really love the idea.
Now this is a cool idea - and perfect for those of us who are not professional artists!
Oo! They come in different colors, too! Thanks.
I like plain white.
