Design Your Own Graphic Dinnerware

Design Your Own Graphic Dinnerware

Are you an admirer of Marimekko’s graphic black and white ceramics, but don’t want to spend $22 for a mug? Here are a few ideas on how to recreate the look for less.

Above: Plates and bowls painted by Jennifer Hagler of A Merry Mishap. To make them, Hagler only uses affordable white china and a porcelain pen from her local crafts store.

Above: Consider the Bullet Tip Marker by Porcelaine 150; $6.

Above: Inspiration seen on Aesthetic Outburst.

Above: A few more pattern ideas from Swedish ceramicist Kajsa Cramer.

Your story didn't mention if the items are reusable immediately or must be baked in the oven ?

Love this idea. Dollar stores are a good source for inexpensive dishes and containers to decorate. I think this would be a really fun activity for a kid's party and make a good party favor.

Oh, these are totally cool! I don't think I have a steady-enough hand for it but I really love the idea.

Oo! They come in different colors, too! Thanks.
