You won't find a single piece of wood lying around in S.Africa but one can buy old railwaysleepers that have been cut up in planks. You would only buy the top and bottom ones, of course!
My parents village house had renovations. I think some boards left after builders cleaning . Maybe they would be in use. Thank for the article

I love the rustic look. Perfect for my house out in the country. We've got lots of wood sitting around from the old residents.
