11 Great Uses for Shower Caps

  • 2 of 3

4. If you save up a nice stash of shower caps, they can be excellent picnic accompaniments. One stretched over the top of each bowl (potato salad, chips, dips, etc) is great for keeping the bugs at bay!

5. Another picnic lifesaver: you can add some ice to the cap and then put a bowl inside of it, so the cap covers the bottom and sides. This creates a little ice box effect and will keep the contents cool for hours.

6. In your home, place a cap under your indoor plants, with the elastic tight around the container. This will help prevent leaking when you water.

7. Conversely, secure the cap over your spring seedlings, which will trap warmth and moisture and create a little greenhouse. Perfect for getting those plants off to a great start!

8. Fill the cap with a bit of water, then fasten around the stems of fresh cut flowers. This acts as a traveling vase, keeping the flowers hydrated while you transplant them.

Strange, was using Internet Explorer instead of Mozilla Firefox and none of my comments took, talk about bizarre...will see if they take using firefox...okay it is Friday the 13th but this is ridiculous.
If my comments are duplicated then I will know why!
Since I rarely stay in hotels or motels there is no need to collect shower caps since I am not in the habit of using them.
There is no real point in collecting them if these will not be used at home or elsewhere.

The Fox reigns supreme it seems, still, how does that happen? Any computer savvy people know why one search engine is not letting my comments go on while my regular does? Either should apply one would think!

i love all of the ideas except for the sandwich baggie thing. that just sounds gross to me! i think it's a good idea to use for coving a bowl, however. love the idea to cover paint cans, and use as booties for dirty shoes!
