No, GIANNA M., you're no doubt thinking of the Faroe Islands, which are under the soverereignty of Denmark. The Falkland Islands are a British Overseas Territory. Each is self governed.

Good for them. Maybe even without Argentina's nonsense it would have been a good idea to become more self sufficient anyway. A few more greenhouses would help too I am sure.

Not the easiest climate in which to become self-sufficient but they're a resourceful people and, apart from products made from wood (toilet paper etc - no trees on the islands) they will prove that pulling together in hard times is the answer.
