Your Favorite Flower: What It Says About Your Style

Your Favorite Flower: What It Says About Your Style

Our favorite flowers can tell us a lot about our personality and our sense of style. A gardenia-woman will want to dress and present herself very differently from a daisy, for instance. Which flower speaks to you?

Take a quick walk through our lovely flower garden, and find out more about your personal kind of beauty. Then read our suggestions for colors and styles that might suit you. You can share this with friends and find out what flowers they prefer: together we make a beautiful bouquet! ItĎs all right here.

Which of the following flowers is your favorite? If yours isnít on the list, pick the one that comes closest.

Daisy: Refreshing and unpretentious, this type is often sunny and optimistic, loving to spend lots of time in nature, and preferring clothes that donít mind getting a little rumpled. Choose fresh, natural colors and crisp fabrics. Image: A casual picnic on a patchwork quilt spread out in a sunny field of wildflowers.

Gardenia: Exotic and a bit sultry, this type often favors saturated colors and sensuous textures, an air of mystery and an Asian flair. You may want to explore brightly-colored brocades and embroidered fabrics, or pieces sewn with tiny mirrors. Image: Moonlight shines through incense smoke onto the silken draperies of an exotic boudoir.

Iris: Meditative and with a deep sense of spirituality, this type often prefers simple, cool-colored clothes that move well, and that impart a sense of ease and serenity. Image: A still pool reflects the misty dawn light; a heron stands quietly nearby.

Calla Lily: Graceful and filled with dignity, this type has a goddess-like sense of poise and presence that is quite commanding and imposing. Choose jewel-tone colors and clothes with striking lines that enhance your statuesque figure. Image: a Greek temple with white columns, set on a hillside ringed with willows.

Poppy: Vibrant and creative, this type is unconventional and even a bit quirky, always ready to explore new things. Choose unusual color combinations, vintage pieces, and clothes inspired by works of art or the cinema. Image: A jazz band plays against the background of a vivid, expressive mural.

Rose: Warm, and with an old-fashioned sense of femininity, this type is often a deep-dyed romantic with a timeless sense of style that never goes out of fashion. Choose classic pieces in warm colors that enhance your womanly curves. Image: A cozy table set for two with candles casting a warm glow on the vase of full-blown roses.

Violet: Sensitive, private, and complex, this type may take a little time to get to know, but she is definitely worth it! Her style tends to be understated but tastefully and quietly elegant. Choose subtle colors and soft fabrics that feel good against your skin. Image: A secret garden at sunset; at the foot of the mossy brick wall, small flowers bloom.

Thanks for this post. I enjoyed reading it. Associating emotional characteristics to flowers is like associating symbolic meanings to other forms of nature like animals, trees, birthstones...I find these useful especially when we analyze our dreams. Remember they are self help guides to help you explore different aspects of your self. Stephanie Alt, MS http://www.of2minds.com/

Entertaining, but, like astrology, get get out of it what you want. I happen to be a huge fan of the nasturtium with its gypsy exuberance (and tasty flowers!), though I also adore irises for their sleek serenity, and roses for their intoxicating scent and vibrant colors. If I tried to match my personality to any one of these I would be leaving out the majority of facets of me. So, like the daily astrology, I chuckle and move along ;-)

I agree Janice L.

Methinks somebody had a deadline to meet and nothing to write about.
