By Bob Bendick / The Nature Conservancy
This July, as we celebrate the anniversary of the founding of our nation, much of the talk here in Washington continues to be (are we tired of this yet?) about how divided our country is. But a just-completed public opinion poll done for The Nature Conservancy by a bi-partisan consulting team reveals that the overwhelming majority of Americans from all political perspectives still believe in conserving our natural resources and that they consider conservation patriotic.
Patriotic? That’s right. More than four in five American voters say that “conserving our country’s natural resources — our land, air, and water — is patriotic.”
Other results in the poll confirm the finding that Americans still care deeply about our country’s natural resources:

Consevation is a must for sustained living so why are the goverments the last to get on board!!
It is so overdue.
i'd hope we all support it
Politicians hear their constituents, aka, their employers, which the seem to forget once they are in office and only hear the voice of Greed, that grease their pockets. Look at my State, New York, we have some of the most scenic land in this Country and do not want it to be destroyed by Fracking, but does the Governor hear the outcry of the people not to Frack it up? No! Despite after seeing the problems fracking has caused in Pennsylvania, our neighboring State. Politicians are nothing more than legalized Crooks. The only choice we get now at the polls, is choosing the lesser of the two Evils!
I'm sure people care, but how many take action? Maybe like 20% of people?
This seems like good news.....let's hope it really comes to pass that Congress takes this seriously.
it's a start
If 4 out of 5 Americans support conservation then why is it nothing ever changes? Are they lieing or just not doing anything, somethings wrong because if that were true then we wouldnt have to work as hard as we do for change that supposedly 4 out of 5 want BULLSHIT! trhanks for sharing
So why doesn't the House GOP represent their constituents interests in these areas?
