Adapted from The Essential Oils Book, by Colleen K. Dodt (Storey Books, 1996).

Hair absorbs scents easily, as you well know if you’ve been in a room with cigarette smokers or cooking smells!

Try this great, easy way to combat unwanted odors and condition your hair at the same time.

You can tuck a small bottle of this fragrant formula in your purse and apply a few drops directly to your brush or comb, a helpful suggestion for travelers. The essential oils are invigorating, versatile, and pleasing to body, mind, and spirit. We also include a terrific gift idea!

A note from Annie and Cait: Many of us are sensitive to artificial fragrances. We encourage you to use only pure essential oils, diluted and with caution. Pregnant women, and those with serious health problems, should always consult a physician before using essential oils.

Hair Care Oil Formula:
Equal parts of the following essential oils: Rosemary, lavender, clary sage, patchouli, sandalwood, jasmine absolute.

To Use:
Add 2-3 drops Hair Care Oil directly to a hair brush or comb before using.

You may also add 6-8 drops Hair Care Oil to 1 tablespoon of shampoo, conditioner, or vinegar, or add a few drops to your final rinse water.

Scalp Massage: Put 3-5 drops on your fingertips and lightly massage into scalp.

Gift idea: A bottle of Hair Care Oil and a wooden comb make a sweet gift idea. You can rub the oil directly into the comb which will absorb it and condition hair as you use it.

My sister uses rosemary oil which is cheap, buy it at the health food store. It turns her hair golden blonde with beautiful hues. Personally Rosemary gives me a headache, but some men love the fragrance

I wanted to try this, but found that purchasing 1/2 oz of each of these essential oils would cost more than $100! Can you suggest something less expensive?
