As a child, drawing a picture or making a homemade Father’s Day card was the perfect gift to show how much you loved and admired Dad. But what do you give to Dad when you’ve moved beyond the construction paper stage of your life? Of course, he will treasure a new tie or a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant, simply because it came from you, his son or daughter.
But the best Father’s Day gift of all? Quality time with his child: his babies-turned-adults who have jobs, responsibilities, families of their own, busy lives and limited time to spend with parents.
Your time and attention are probably all your dad wants this Father’s Day. But for many people, visiting Dad at his home isn’t the most fulfilling experience. Conversations may lag, old disagreements may surface, and what is intended to be a few hours of quality time turns into an uncomfortable experience that you endure rather than enjoy.

i had a great time with my dad yesterday, just hanging out with him and making a nice meal for him. it was definitely time well-spent and we both had a memorable day!
Thanks.
THANKS ))
When Dad got real old and didn't want to go out to do stuff anymore, we had a good time just hanging out, I would get him his favorite snacks, we'd each have a small glass of red wine and laugh together at shows we both liked - old movies, Jay Leno's Headlines, Letterman's Top Ten, we'd watch game shows and see who had the right answer, or we'd play scrabble. He was real happy doing those things. I treasure those moments.
thx
