Happy Ending for Kitten Lit on Fire

On April 25th in Philadelphia, a tiny tuxedo kitten was doused in accelerant and lit on fire. The SPCA is still searching for any information relating to the horrendous act. But thankfully, someone with angel wings rescued the kitten, now named Justin, and through an outpouring of support and care that included multiple surgeries, Justin has almost made a full recovery.

His fur has grown back to a fuzzy soft tux, his eyes sparkle, and aside from his ears, it’s hard to notice any abnormalities in his physical appearance. (See the adorable video of Justin playing above.) Kelly, his new mama, had this to say about her companion: “He has so much life in him and every day is just a new day full of adventures and just full of love and goodness. He is the sweetest boy.”

Kelly set up a Facebook page for Justin to thank all of his supporters and show off his amazing recovery. She is adamant that her kitten is not a victim, but rather a fighter and a survivor.  ”He pulled through this with just the best of spirits,” she said. Justin’s destiny may be as a spokescat for animal cruelty cases in the future. “You’ll be hearing more from Justin in the future,” his new mama, Kelly, teased.

A $6000 reward is being offered for anyone with information leading to an arrest. Let’s hope someone collects that reward money and the person responsible gets the obvious help they desperately need before they harm other animals or people.

A special thank you to Crown Veterinary Specialists and the Animal Alliance who made Justin’s recovery possible.

I hope the reward brings forth whoever did this evil thing and let THEM be doused with an accelerant to show them how it feels!

Dear little fellow. So happy to hear that he is doing much much better. It saddens me to think that some people can be so ugly as to be so cruel. Good on everyone who had a hand in saving that little dude and making his life right.
