This video takes to the vegan San Francisco home of Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, author The Vegan Table and The Joy of Vegan Baking. Colleen is planning a backyard barbecue for 15 guests, not all of who are vegans.
First she goes to the market for fresh ingredients: eggplant, peppers, beets, greens, plus tofu, tempeh and seitan. Back in the kitchen she makes a simple teriyaki sauce for the eggplants, and cuts up veggies for kebabs which she will dip in an easy sauce before grilling. She marinates the tempeh and seitan in barbecue sauce, replacing the meat in a typical backyard barbecue.
Finally we see everything on the grill while the guests wait expectantly. The wait is worth it!
