1 cup of sweet almond oil (you can use a different type of oil, but this one doesn’t leave a greasy film)
2 Tablespoons of shaved beeswax (available in most health food stores—use an unscented beeswax tealight free of colors if you can’t find plain beeswax)
1 cup distilled water or rose water (the latter is available in most health food stores)
22 drops ylang ylang essential oil
8 drops rose essential oil (if you can’t find a pure rose oil or it is too expensive, substitute orange essential oil or just use more ylang ylang oil).
In a small saucepan, shave 2 Tablespoons of beeswax. Add the sweet almond oil and heat over low heat until the beeswax is melted and remove from heat. Pour into a blender and slowly add the water or rose water until it emulsifies. Add the essential oils (ylang ylang, rose and/or orange) and blend until well mixed. Pour into the glass jars and store in the fridge for about 6 months.
