Fight Climate Change With Holiday Shopping

Strident Shopping for Toys
Naturally, parents want to give their children toys that will make them happy, but we also want to keep them safe and healthy. In the past few years, we’ve learned a lot about the potential consequences of toys laden with PVC and BPA, not to mention the long-term costs to our kids from toy manufacturers and retailers who sell them. It is time toy companies address their impact on climate change.

Climate Counts is scoring toy companies who have enormous supply chains using energy and creating waste — much of it petroleum-based plastic — that have significant impact on our climate.

The multi-billion dollar toy industry generates a large portion of of its annual revenue during the holiday season. This is the time to send a message to them, and to our children.

Check out the Climate Counts scores for toy companies… and with one click of the mouse you can learn more about these companies send them a personal message voicing your concerns or congratulating them on their progress.

This holiday season, ClimateCounts.org is making sure you spend your hard-earned dollars with companies who care about the climate change. Join the Striding Shopper Campaign to give the gift that keeps on giving: companies that care about climate change as much as you do.

Look for the new Climate Counts scores… and check back often as new scores are made available. Make your dollars and voices count!

Well said, Carole Brown. AGW is a fraud and carbon trading is a scam. We can't change the climate. Volcanoes billowing, the sun shining, etc. etc. have far more influence on our climate than anything that mankind can do. CO2 is not a pollutant, but a necessary component of our air. It is vital for the planet's plants to grow and thrive.

There are genuine environmental concerns, but AGW and carbon dioxide "pollution" are not among them. Jo Nova is another website worth investigating.

Are people still being taken in by the scam of climate change?
There is no such thing! CO2 is beneficial as going back in time there were much higher levels and everything thrived!
There have always been warm and cool periods, this is normal for the Earth, don`t be taken in, Al Gore`s film has been proved to be incorrect and yet it is still being promoted as true!
Wake up and do a bit more researching. Try Grady McMurtry`s website, amazing information that proves the scam of Climate change/global warming!

Didn't go out shopping, expending carbon this year. I made (knitted) all my presents this time around.

Thanks for the web info. I will use it when purchasing in the future. I will be giving gifts of time this year, babysitting, yard work, window cleaning, washing and polishing cars, etc. Things are not needed to show someone you care about them. Time really shows love and caring. LESS IS MORE :)

@Meme M- even if you can't understand the many forms of evidence for anthropogenic climate change, you should be concerned about the acidification of our oceans by rising levels of CO2.

As for Christmas, I'd like to see everybody cut back on the lights. Most displays are tacky, you have to put up "blackout" drapes so you can get to sleep, and it's a gift to the electric company. Just cut out the middleman and burn a ton of coal in your yard.
