Who Are Your Furry Friends?

By Lisa Spector, Canine Music Expert, Juilliard Graduate, and co-creator of Through a Dog’s Ear.

Every Friday on the Through a Dog’s Ear Facebook page is Furry Friend Friday. I invite fans to tell us about all the furry friends in their homes and hearts ~ dogs, cats, horses, birds, etc. People seem to love it and I enjoy reading about the beloved pets in the lives of my readers. So, why not extend that to my Care2 readers? I often write about my dogs, Sanchez and Gina, and I’d like you to have the opportunity to write about the pets that are part of your family. Thanks for posting a comment and telling us the names and personality traits of the beloved furry friends in your homes and hearts.

As co-creator of Through a Dog’s Ear, I am offering my Care2 readers a free download from our latest release, Music to Calm your Canine Companion, Vol. 3. Simply click here and enter your email address and a link to the free download will be delivered to your inbox for you and your canine household to enjoy.

My husband and I have had 20 cats and 2 dogs during our 41 years together. All of them were strays or discards. Seven of them were kittens that had to be hand raised. All of them have been treasured family members.

Sad to hear about your Victoria. Hope you can help another cat one day.
I want a new cat later, when I don't live near a highway anymore and have my own place. Now it's a little to dangerous.

I lost my 17 year old Victoria last December. She was the Queen of my mini palazzo and ruled her domain and me with feline elegance and love. This is the longest i have ever gone without a furry baby.I hope to offer a forever home to more little ones in the near future . Peace and blessings to all who share their lives with furry babies ,et al

I've had three cats, The last one died a few years ago. This was very hard, because she lived for 17 years by my side. We found her as an abbandoned kitten in our yeard and tried to save her. It worked.
I've had a dog (cross berner-sennen x golden retriever) for 13 years and 4 months, Torka Petrol, he died a month ago and it will take a while to get over this.
I've also had a saved large rabbit, Flip, a dwarf rabbit, Vlekje, a saved pregnant dwarf rabbit, Snuffel, who had 4 baby's,(one I kept, Minne) and a dwarf rabbit with hanging ears, Floortje, she was my last and died because of a back problem.

When I got my first Rats Callisto, Poekie and Echo, I started to love these lovely creatures very much. I now help in a rat shelter, making hammocks and stuff like that. In mean while I also had our little Ruuhne, Cyan, Io and Juno, who all died the last year. Very hard when you have a big band with all of them. I rased an abbandoned litter brought in the shelter last summer and adopted 4 of the girls, Lysithea(Lizie), Sinope(Sientje), Jupita(Pita), Elara. All husky girls, on red-eyed. After a while we got a variberken in our shelter, she was very welcome in my home and I named her Abigail(Abby), she's a very gentel rat, who loves to wash me. Then the little black sisters Kaydie and Lupita(Lupi) came to our little nest. They just turned one previoues month. Now We have 7 rats alive(hope to keep it like that for a while).
We also rescued a dog a year ago, Slurk Oliver, our sw
