Itís Not Going To Turn Out The Way You Thought

You’ll drive as far away from home as possible thinking that it will make you feel free.

Then youíll get homesick and drive back four months later because you suddenly feel trapped.

Youíll imagine the open road, country music playing loud, you singing at the top of your lungs, and flirting with a new man in every town. And then youíll invite someone to come with you on a whim and realize driving around the country by yourself was a terrible idea anywayÖand that†its way more fun when youíre traveling with someone you love.

You wonít do it at the right time.

Youíll be late.

Youíll be early.

Youíll get re-routed.

Youíll get delayed.

Youíll change your mind.

Youíll change your heart.

Itís not going to turn out the way you thought it would.

It will be better.

So take your mind off it all by doing things for others, such as battling for the environment, for peace . . . in other words use Care2 to take your mind off your own selfish little interests. I did not get my 1st choice of career . . . not even my 20th come to that. I did not get any of the girls I wanted . . . at 54 I remain single and with virtually no experience of love . . . I do not have the particular Degree I wanted, I had to settle for the same as my career . . . but at least I can go on fighting the bastards and trying to make this a better world for others to live in. I count my blessings rather than feeling sorry for myself. I have nothing to feel sorry about.

what is this "Life" anyway??? It takes a whole lifetime of "mistakes" and "wrong turns" to make a life. John Lennon said "Life is what happens to you while you're making other busy plans" --- I think we bought too high into thinking too rigidly about a "happily ever after" when we should have bought the truth that life is what is happening right now.
The goodness of a life is really measured by the love you are willing to be, and the rest just flows from there in utter beauty. The badness flows from the constriction of a heart that is unwilling to open, and will never be able to receive anything.
