What a good kitty, but I have met a few cats that would not have responded so nicely to having its fur pulled. For the safety of both animal and human Never put your little ones in harms way no matter how cute it might be. That baby is too little to understand how to behave around an animal.

i have been raised with a lot of cats and they never hurt or scratch babies on purpose rather they bond great. accident is accident and accident can be also done by humans as well, even parents! so its no reason to separate a baby with the pet rather separating creates further behavioral problems and in future baby can refuse to accept the pet as member of family if they don't have chance given in early stage to bond. thank u :)
