Laurie David, Parent Earth Expert, award-wining producer and Author of “The Family Dinner: Great Ways to Connect with Your Kids, One Meal at a Time”, has thought a lot about food and family. In this Parent Earth video, she shares her tried and true family food rules. What are yours?
Laurie David’s 5 Family Food Rules:
1. No screens of any kind: cell phones, televisions, and computers
2. Everyone comes to the table, no excuses
3. Only serve filtered tap water in glasses at the table
4. Serve dessert to pace the meal: fruit, tea or a little square of chocolate
5. Cook for the family, not just for the kids

Beautiful. I will see what I can incorporate into my family dinners. I like the water served in a glass with fruit.
thanks lovely to see
Its one of my rules. Everyone down to lunch together, we wait for each other. I feel its so important. Like Laurie I allow no screens, its the only way to get people talking! I let the kids choose their favorite meals on special occassions which makes it even more special! I have 6 kids, so I spend lots of time cooking, but I enjoy it! They eat a huge variety of foods from all corners of the world. They all enjoy cooking, even my boys! So now I enjoy the pleasure of being 'waited on!'
thanks
