Can Pets Improve Your Love Life?

Lisa Spector with Gina and Sanchez

My dogs are a huge priority in my life. Gone are the days when I would date someone allergic to dogs, or a man who treats dogs as animals that need to be subservient to his demands. My heart seems to only open up to men who really cherish the human animal bond. It’s a deal breaker when a man tells me that I should be comfortable treating my dogs one way, when I feel another. And, I’m not crazy about being teased because it’s hard for me to leave them when I go out of town. Don’t get me wrong, I take trips without Sanchez and Gina and leave them in very good care, but it’s still always hard for me to say good-bye, even if it’s only for a weekend.

With Valentine’s Day approaching, love is in the air, or at least Hallmark tells us it is. Even though I’ll be celebrating with my four-legged sweeties, there is always much to learn from them. And I’m sure they’ll remind me that the right man is capable of loving me and them, it’s not one or the other.

Thanks for the article. Dogs do attract people, they can be so welcoming to a stranger. We can learn from them. May have to take my dog Ziva to a park :)

Take a dog to the park ... your love life will improve. (I used to borrow my nephew for this purpose, too. Worked like a charm. Though he couldn't catch a Frisbee.)

Take a dog to Denmark ... you'll be the subject of a petition on this site.

I'll take the park, thanks.

A BEST TRUE LOYAL FRIEND Improves my while life, just like my best best friend &defacto I ever met, and lived for/with during 11 years, spending every day&night together, always, even when pooping out just to do a quick errend or something, since I have been home "on sick leave"since me and E.T first met when he was 5 weeks old, and he moved in with me when he was 8 weeks and 1 days. I WAS SO HAPPY I CRIED!!!!!!! oh noooo E.T is NOW GOOOOOONE.. Oh my god, he is goooneee,, forever, And so am I, Im nothing without him, nothing..I was only about 24 yeasr old back then, and I have changed in many ways, or the way "of thinking/seeing life",hard to explain my friends. E.T has been with me for so long "beeing a young SUCH A EXTEMLY SPECIAL "person with such a uniqe/odd and almost "scary" sometimes-cause he was SOO shocking SMART & INTELLIGENT,so SHARP. Oh damn it, I dont know what to do, I am so scared for whats gonna happen to me now, E.T has ALWAYS helped me when I needed a friend to talk to,or whatever, but now..Or Now what!?! I am so sorry everyone for writing this, please forgive me. ,I dont know why really, or how I even manage to type at all, Care2 has "given" me so much and -all the "FRIENDS/MEMBERS" on here, MOST (of course) I never talked to, but still can "see/feel" what kind if person that is. Thank you very much-I LOVE YOU'S ALL... (Even though I in the long run prefer spending my time with E.T, before ANY HUMAN BEING,or with animals more than humans, in gen
