Just how much is it worth to chemical giants like Monsanto to make Proposition 37, a bill that would require labeling of genetically engineered food, go away?

Enough to contribute $4.2 million so far to a campaign to defeat it, that’s how much.

Monsanto’s not the only major chemical company hoping to defeat this measure. DuPont ($1.27 million) and Dow Agro ($1.18 million) are contributing millions to fight our right to know what’s in the food we eat.

Why Are You Being Kept in the Dark About What’s in Your Food?

Monsanto is the acknowledged leader responsible for the genetic changes in our food system – the mother of agriculture biotechnology and creator of other products that have included Agent Orange (1), PCBs (2), DDT (3), Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone (rBGH) and aspartame (4).

How Monsanto became such a ringmaster is crucial to understanding why Americans are not allowed to know if their food has been genetically engineered by simple labeling, as 50 countries around the world do, including Russia, China and the entire EU.

So why are Americans kept in the dark?

Monsanto is not just an expert in manipulating genetic structures, they are also experts in manipulating people.

Monsanto influenced President Ronald Reagan’s administration back in 1986 to ensure genetic engineering would be kept away from the public forum. Monsanto’s power has been further enhanced through each administration, adding more influence with each federal appointment.

Even in the past year, Monsanto has directly supported at least 65 candidates for federal office in the 2012 elections, with significant dollars “donated” to the chairs and leadership of the House and Senate Ag Committee.

We have a two party system bought and paid for by corporations. For all the feigned differences and opposition, the two capitalist parties are united by a single corporate agenda. Much of that agenda has been dictated by Monsanto and other GMO corporations. We need to demand a complete ban on GMO. Getting that ban may require system change by voting out the Monsanto drones presently in office. We need a political party with a clear position against GMO, a party that isn't for sale to the highest bidders: that party is the Green Party of the United States.

Monsanto is destruction, killers it is more evil than the devil itself Problem is what I want to write would take 13 boxes. So by now if anyone who has read this and researched it thinks GMO are safe its too late for you. We must stop this, personally if GMO's are not labeled in a couple years I'm moving to Europe because I want to live not die, its a matter of life and death in my opinion. I Love my country but I fear my government.....PERIOD!

In November California voters will consider Proposition 37 to establish if they wish to require labeling of food products containing GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms).
Monsanto provides most GMO seeds which include Roundup Ready (RR) soy, corn, canola, sugar beets and more. Many RR crops are genetically engineered to survive insects and spraying with Roundup herbicide during weed abatement efforts.
Monsanto asserts that GMO laden food requires no labeling because ‘they have not been proven to be harmful’. Industry insiders, the FDA, EPA .et al remain so infused with employees from each other’s organizations that consumer safeguards are severely compromised. Example: The FDA recruited Michael Taylor, a Monsanto attorney, to manage the creation of its GMO policy, a policy in effect today that empowers biotechnology companies to establish if their GMOs are nontoxic. Taylor then departed the FDA to become Monsanto’s vice president.

Since the introduction of GMOs in the 1990s rates of autism, allergies, obesity, cancer and assorted health issues have soared. There is no definitive proof indicting GMOs; nevertheless the biotechnology industry is circumventing labeling that would facilitate the necessary research. Why? Is there a stench here reminiscent of tobacco companies?

Independent research and case studies raise alarms worldwide. Many RR GMO crops have genes inserted into their DNA structure that manufactures an insect-killing toxin known as B
