We think of penguins as living almost exclusively in Antarctica.
This 10-year-old King Penguin was rescued from a fisherman’s line and refused to leave after he was healed. He was adopted by a family in a small town in Japan and became a beloved pet who has his own personal air-conditioned cold room.
We see him walk into town wearing his backpack. He heads straight to the local fish store where the proprietor is happy to give him a fish, and help him scarf it down. On the way home a friendly neighbor gives him a welcome hosing.

Great story. He seems happy and has a great family. Lots of friends too. Hope he's still around.
Does anyone know whether Lala was affected by the tsunami. I worry because obviously he lives in a coastal town.
LaLa is beautiful. I wonder if he survived the earthquake and tsunami. Hope he did.
