Natural Solutions for Hair Loss

By Veronica Peterson, Editor, Healthy & Green Living
Shedding is never fun, just ask my vacuum cleaner. It’s even less fun when you realize the golf ball size bits of hair you’re tugging out of the roller came from your own head. Oh, the horror! As we get older (yes ladies, this is for you too) our once glorious crown of healthy hair can become brittle or even worse, be genetically predisposed to jump ship, leaving our poor, bald heads to fend for themselves.
Below are a few secrets from Mother Nature, some preventative, and some for after the mutiny has begun.

Diet
You are what you eat - and that’s true for your hair as well. A diet containing mostly whole foods, especially the skin of plants such as cucumbers, potatoes, peppers, and even bean sprouts are rich in the mineral silica and contribute to hair strength. Foods like lean meats are high in iron and are essential to the protein-based, building blocks of hair growth.

Rejuvenate your scalp at the cellular level with a galvanic spa; see hair growth pictures here:

Invest in a galvanic spa before you spend thousands of dollars on other treatments; this comes with a money back guarantee.

I use it for treating wrinkles and breakouts but it basically stimulates at the cellular level.
don't pay full price; email the company about a discount.
Cheers;)

First year university was stressful and my hair started to fall out and lost its shine.
I have used stinging nettle; however, I didn't drink it as a tea...I was rinsing my hair with the tea. So shampoo and condition as always and then rinse with the tea and leave it in.
Within a couple of months my hair grew so abundant and shiny I actually had people compliment me!
Cheers ;)

i found i was loosing my hair several years ago-everywhere! inthe shower, sink, floating around in my car,,,my nails had always been brittle too-they were always snagging and breaking off! by chance,i started taking amino acids -the big tablets the body builders take. those and my flax oil stopped the hair fallout, and my nailbeds and nails grew back! so did my hair!take 3or4 tablets of each a day amino acid pills go a long way when you don't take them like body builders do .grind them into a smoothie, half them, what ever you need to do.i'm wondering if my stomach didn't have enough enzyme to break down proteins enough--all i know is that it works for me!you can buy amino acids at a vitamin store, flax, borage fish oil anywhere--it's cheap too

I was watching some show on VH1 or MTV, "True Life" I think it was called, where they talk about issues affecting real people...some guy was experiencing hair loss, and they took him to an acupuncture/natural health clinic, they did some "scans" of his body using some sensors all over his body, and found that he had a fungal infection in his body causing his hair loss...I can't remember exactly what the cause, or what treatment they gave him, but it was some highly strict diet that he had to start on....
My thought, I've heard Garlic is an anti-fungal, as is tea tree oil, I wonder if those could be applied or even "consumed" - obviously in small amounts to break down the fungus?
I'll have to go hunting for the episode or a summary somewhere....it was on one of those "music" channels (yea, go figure...lol).

I agree that eating strictly veggies is not a good idea. Veggies are great for you but we really need to eat a greater variety of foods. It sounds like your vegetarian friend is disregarding basic nutritional requirements that can easily be met by vegetarians and even vegans. If she's as "gaunt" as you say she is, she may have an eating disorder. Being vegetarian doesn't mean you'll automatically become skinny (as I am and and several of my friends are proof!) While I agree that our bodies are not optimized for meat, I've got to say that just because you're vegetarian doesn't automatically mean you're eating a nutritionally balanced or healthy diet. You can be vegetarian and eat a diet of only pretzels... still not healthy! ha!

i don't agree with just eating veggies, they are great but meat is needed too!
i know a woman who does everything humanly possible to be healthy and she refuses to eat meat. she eats lots of veggies but without the meat she remains paper thin. though she does everything healthy, that meat is really important. she's about 5'10, about 97 pounds, and in her 40s. she's so gaunt it's frightening, and doesn't look near as healthy as all those exotic animals as david was referring to. when i'm looking to be healthier, she is not the woman i aspire to be like.
