If you use organic ingredients in your main dish, why not add flavor with organic condiments? Try these natural options at your next barbecue.

Ketchup
Organic ketchup contains three times as much cancer-fighting lycopene as conventional ketchup, according to one study.

Mayonnaise
Organic eggs–the primary ingredient in mayo–come from chickens that have access to the outdoors and consume feed that doesn’t contain animal byproducts.

Salad dressing
Organic oils are often mechanically cold-pressed–a chemical-free technique that preserves flavor and nutrients, such as beneficial fatty acids.

Mustard
Organic mustard doesn’t contain genetically modified corn syrup and synthetic preservatives.

Despite his rude remark, Dirk does make a point. There really is not much information here. And while I realize that Melissa Breyer does not write, but merely relays, the article, it would be helpful if she could find something with a little more substance to it.

Just taking the time to read the ingedients on traditional mass produced condiments can be a real eye opener. Such things as corn syrup is an example of ingredients that are not needed if you want to enjoy condiments. Salsas are easy to make, using organic olive oil, chopped onions tomatoes and any one of your favorite herbs, a dash of sea salt and a grating of pepper. It won't last long enough to go bad in the fridge! Regular ketsup is easy to make..de-seeding and removing tomato skin before slow cooking until the tomatoes are soft, then pureeing them (after cooling) in a blender or food processer. A dash of organic worcestershire or salt enhances the flavor. You can also get creative and add roasted bell peppers or roasted onions to the blender.

This sounds good, but it is really a weak article. You claim facts and studies without showing the source! Monkeys could have typed this

Wow! Great information; Glad to see this, having just read a few studies saying that organic foods are no better than conventional foods http://www.findingdulcinea.com/news/health/2009/july/Is-Organic-Overrated-.html
