Oskar the Blind Kitty Helps Decorate the Christmas Tree (Video)

Oskar, the blind tiger-striped kitty who catapulted to stardom in the past month, now has his own Facebook page — and a new enthusiasm for tree “decorating.”  Watching this little guy pounce on tinsel and tree limbs, you would never know he was blind. He acts just like any other playful feline, but clearly must rely on his other senses to find his tinsel “prey.” I am always so inspired by handicapped animals and how they seem to take their hardships in such stride.  They do not seem to carry the emotional baggage of being different the way humans often do — it probably helps that their peers do not seem to care if their furry buddy has no eyes, three eyes or twenty-four toes. If only humans could be so accepting, not only of themselves but also of others who are different in unusual ways, the world would be a much kinder place.

So take a moment out of your hectic December day and enjoy Oskar’s unbridled enthusiasm for tree decorating!

Marvellous! Such a delightful and playful cat you are Adorable One!
My cat is blind and is sixteen--this does not deter her at all especially when headed quickly to the food bowl.
She has learned to map out everything with her whiskers and she has the same zest for life as when she was sighted.
Oskar is delightful and well loved!
