Over use of one's joints wears away cartlidge faster than anything else. I used to lift weights, more than my body weight, when I was young and very buff. Low and behold, fast forward 17 yrs, I now have pretty severe arthritis in my shoulders. Taking 1TBSP of EVOO(extra virgin olive oil) daily has really done a tremendous job in reducing my stiffness. I barely notice it anymore. But I do regret damaging my body for the sake of looks. We all grow old and the choices we make when young definitely come back to you in either a good way(took good care of your self and feel great compared to your peers) or a bad way amplified(abused your body in some fashion). And it does come back amplified. Your body never forgets an insult.
