Waffle Irons

Recipe: Waffle Calzones

Ingredients:

  • Pizza dough at room temperature
  • 3 cups pizza sauce
  • Shredded mozzarella
  • Any desired toppings (note: simple is best, and overloading a calzone can lead to disaster!)

Instructions:
1. Preheat waffle maker to its highest heat.
2. Roll out pizza dough as thinly as possible. Separate into 8 inch rounds. Spread pizza sauce evenly onto dough, keeping about 1/2 an inch sauce-free around the edge. Place toppings (don’t over load it!) over sauce, and then sprinkle cheese over toppings. Rub water along the sauce-free edge with your finger. Fold in half, and carefully crimp the edges of the dough.
3. Carefully place calzone in the waffle maker. Gently shut the lid, but don’t press down or apply any pressure. Cook until the crust is golden brown. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes before eating.

Best Juicer To Buy Guide

some of those are great ideas, but i try to avoid such luxurious 1 use products! saying that, i do have a pressure cooker which doubles up as the most biggest heavy bottomed saucepan i have to make jam in! and i have a juicer which has a smoothie maker with it and i use that for soups. i also have a george foreman and use that for anything that could be grilled, from freezer stuff to bagels! you can never have to many knives or chopping implements though!

we rec'd a waffle iron as a wedding gift. it turned out to be too messy to use often. i guess we can try to make paninis. the bread machine and rice cookers should come with recipe booklets that let you know of other things you can make. i can't comment on the other items.

When we replaced our rice cooker we got one with a basket for steaming and a special setting for risotto! I love it!
