Prayers for Our Planet
A challenge facing humanity at this time in history is processing the grief so many of us feel for the loss of healthy habitat, species, clean air, and more. Here are some beautiful prayers from the lovely book Prayers for Hope and Comfort, by Maggie Oman Shannon (Conari Press, 2008), to help us feel more centered and at peace.
Grandfather,
Look at our brokenness.
We know that in all creation
Only the human family
Has strayed from the Sacred Way.
We know that we are the ones
who are divided
And we are the ones
who must come back together
to walk in the Sacred Way.

Sacred One,
Teach us love, compassion, and honor
that we may heal the earth

why is this inappropriate?
I found this prayer to be deeply moving, as I truly love and value nature, wildlife, animals, and mother earth. I know it is very difficult (mentally and emotionally fatiguing at times) on me to continually hear about the loss, destruction, and inhumane treatment/abuse/neglect that so regularly goes on. I found this prayer to be both comforting and motivating, as it gives me energy and renewed strength to continue onward in my journey to help the animals, wildlife, nature, and earth that I love. Thank you for sharing.

It´s a very nice prayer.That shows us how far the white people from nature are.The Indian are related to the nature.
