It is very heartening to hear so many fad diets being 'slammed'.

The only real way forward is to eat healthily and moderately, move your body moderately and allow a moderate amount of treats / junk / special extras in your life.

Any radical diet will probably only bring short term success, frustration, yo-yo gaining, and possibly even a host of negative effects on your health.
Success lies in slow, but sure, long-term changes in your way of eating and living. It also starts with acceptance of yourself, the way you look right now, your limitations, your needs and your feelings.
Everything else ... forget it.
