Raspberry Cappuccino Smoothie

Inspired by Smoothies, by Mary Corpening Barber, et al (Chronicle Books, 1997).

My college-bound daughter, Lily, swears by these lusciously fruity frozen treats for a light dessert. Fresh raspberries, non-fat frozen yogurt, coffee, and chocolate make a winning combination in this refreshing smoothie.

INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup low-fat chocolate milk

2 tablespoons health-food store version of chocolate syrup
1/3 cup freshly-brewed espresso, decaf if you wish
1 1/2 cups nonfat coffee frozen yogurt
1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries

1/4 cup milk

Combine all ingredients in blender until smooth and foamy.

Serves 2.

We should try to remember how creative our parents were, and how isolated we are from kitchen today.
Your recipes are a reminder that nothing is better than homemade, were at least you know the source of your ingredients.
