Thanks.
I keep telling my kids that I have a glass of wine in the evening 'for my heart'. Their response it that I don't have one. Well, I do, it's in a jar in the garage somewhere...I just like to relax with a glass of wine as I prepare dinner in the evening.
Toni, they don't mean drinking like a fish!
Thanks. It's been well documented that one or two alcoholic beverages have antioxidant properties and are good for the majority of people, notwithstanding preexisting conditions to the contrary (like diabetes, alcoholism, allergies, etc.). But I don't know why this creates angst in people. If one doesn't want to drink beverages containing alcohol, then one doesn't have to and shouldn't. Resveratrol is just one of the benefits and is available in nonalcoholic forms....there are others.
thanks
Thanks.
The myth that red wine is beneficial is foisted on us by the wine industry. It's the resveratrol found in red or purple grape skins that's beneficial, NOT the alcohol, so there's no need to drink wine. Grape juice will do the trick. I hate that we are constantly misled by professionals who should know better. Alcohol is a TOXIN, pure and simple, and the fact that the medical profession keeps telling us that wine is beneficial is just short of criminal, IMO.
