Relationship Reboot: Celebrate a Weird Anniversary

Relationship Reboot: Celebrate a Weird Anniversary

I’ll be honest…I never really got the point of celebrating monthly anniversaries. Not to say that a year together is somehow more significant than 11 months, but if you ask me, a monthly appointment is for paying your credit card bills, tampon purchases, and getting your eyebrows waxed, not revving up the romance.

That said, I’m also a hypocrite—because I love the idea of celebrating the weird anniversaries, noting special dates that aren’t just related to your first date or the date of your wedding. It’s light-hearted, low-pressure, and a great excuse to walk down memory lane. Plus, you can fudge the exact date a bit if you can’t remember it.

This month, why not celebrate…

  • The day you made it Facebook official
  • The first time you said “I love you”
  • The first time you knew you wanted to say it
  • The day you got a pet together
  • …or a plant
  • The first time you slept together
  • The first time you actually slept together
  • The weekend you met each other’s parents and survived
  • Your first trip together

"Celebrate the first time your husband beat you up! :-P"

Teresa, you kill. hahaha I have always wondered why there are thousands of articles every day about love. Now I know. Love isn't real. It's a made up word for an emotion humans "feel" which is all in their minds. The truth is True Love is between your legs and it comes and it goes. Since it doesn't LAST, everybody is trying to figure out HOW to make this feeling a constant thing and they can't. Sex is the trigger for this "feeling". For men it's
gone right after he's done. For women sex triggers an emotional "nesting" instinct and it freaks men out because they don't feel that at all. The only time men get emotional is when
they want to reproduce and then they settle down for as long as it takes to pop out a couple kids and then they split. That's just the way it is and has been throughout history. So all this "relationship" stuff is all bullshit, there is just mating which is not superior in any way from what all other animals on earth do. Men drop a load and a kid and then they are off to do it again with somebody else.

Great idea! Seems like the more unique the idea then the more special it would be for just the two of you. How about the first time he remembered to put the seat down when staying over night at your apartment? That was a milestone for me.
