Let's start being eco-friendly from our living environment
Vladimir, with all due respect, the reason why it was so much easier to get building permits in the late 1980s is because the Communist mentality considered nature, the environment, as something to be used and abused as one pleases - and you know it. (I should know, too, as I lived in one.) It is certainly not a coincidence that the worst man-made wastelands are all in self-proclaimed communist countries, past or present.
I am thankful that the "fascist EU dictatorship" is forcing backward farmers (and others) to consider the environment as something that should be treated with care and respect.
Is it perfect? No, of course not.
