Plant spirit shamans honor plants that contain special properties to help humans to feel well, happy, and balanced. Recent research at Northumbria University in the UK has confirmed that the ingredients in this brew increase feelings of calm and well-being, are relaxing, and are an aid to practice in meditation and forgiveness. Here is the simple traditional technique for making an herbal brew to promote well-being and calm.

INGREDIENTS

1 heaping teaspoon fresh mint
1 heaping teaspoon fresh lemon balm
1 heaping teaspoon fresh chamomile
2 cups rum or vodka
honey to taste

1. Place the herbs in a jar with a tightly-fitting lid and add the alcohol and honey to taste. Cover, and shake well to combine.

2. Allow mixture to sit for 3 weeks, shaking daily.

3. Strain out and discard herbs and take 3 to 5 teaspoonfuls of the brew, morning and night.
