Here is a simple yet true way to treat acne. It contains just two ingredients, both of which are found in most kitchens. The combination cleans, exfoliates, and kills bacteria.

Ingredients

Salt is one of the best antibacterial ingredients, and it is slightly abrasive. Lemon juice exfoliates as it cleans.

1/4 cup sea salt
1/4 cup lemon juice

Combine the ingredients in a bowl.

Dab on the face with a cotton ball.

Massage into the skin, being careful to avoid your eyes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Makes 1/4 cup

Preparation time: About 1 minute

Shelf life: Discard leftovers

What do you use after the treatment as a mosturizer?

is sea salt the same as the salt we use in food in the kitchen?

I use slightly less salt when doingt his, but I have found that in just a few days (along with applying buttermilk to my face afterward) my face has become noticablly clearer.
And to you, Holly, toothpaste will work for the day before picture day or a big date, but if you use it a lot you may end up with an extremely dried out face. It is better to practice good hygene than to make blemishes disappear with a magical paste of tooth (toothpaste for those without my strange state of mind) :)

For Quick healing of pimples :make a paste of fresh neem leaves(margosa leaves) and turmeric powder apply on the pimples.

Be VERY careful w/ using toothpaste. I'd done so while in military boot camp. Apparently I used the tried-&-true method too often. I now have a constant dry patch there w/ more blackheads than before!

I find that if you dab a little toothpaste on a sore red pimple overnight it goes down dramatically and is less sensitive.
