Soft and Silky Moisturizer Formula

Soft and Silky Moisturizer Formula

Keeping our skin soft and smooth in winter can be a real challenge when the air is cold and the heat in our homes makes the air even drier than usual. But this amazingly simple formula from Care2ís Annie Bond is a fabulous emollient, hydrator, and healer for the skin. Annieís family and friends praise it highly, and she says that daily use for four months made her age spots disappear.

Itís also wonderfully simple to make, with only two ingredients. Here is this terrific formula:

1/2 cup aloe vera gel
1/8 cup vegetable glycerin

Combine the ingredients, stirring well to combine, and store in a glass jar with a screw top. (The formula will keep for about 4 months.)

To use, apply a dab to clean, damp skin and gently massage it in.

Makes about 5/8 cup.

Dan - I would try your local organic grocery or natural foods store. You can also use it to emulsify soap - there are many simple recipes on the web for turning bar soap into liquid soap - I've seen but not tried yet.
