Inspired by The Essential Oils Book, by Colleen K. Dodt (Storey Books, 1996).

Until the Winter Solstice the nights just get longer and longer, making us hungry for more rest and sleep just as our To Do lists get longer, too. What a trying time the season can be!

Let our Solstice Blend help you celebrate the hopeful message of renewal as the sun returns and the days begin to grow longer. This simple essential oil formula can uplift your spirits and help you keep your balance and feel relaxed amid the holiday bustle and stress. Place a few drops in your bath for a refreshing respite, or combine with carrier oil or alcohol to dab on pulse points, or place a drop or two on a hanky to sniff throughout the day whenever you need to clear your head. And did we mention that it smells totally divine? It also makes a thoughtful holiday gift. Find out the simple formula, here:

INGREDIENTS
Balsam Pine essential oil
Sweet Orange essential oil
Peppermint essential oil

Combine equal amounts in a clean glass container. This formula will keep indefinitely.

TO USE

1. Add 4 to 6 drops to a full bathtub.

2. Apply 2 drops to a hanky to sniff throughout the day.

3. Mix 6 to 8 drops of blend with 1 ounce of carrier oil, such as almond or jojoba, or 1 ounce of alcohol such as vodka, and use as you would a perfume or cologne.

I did salt scrubs for some of the women at work using sweet orange and peppermint....no balsam fir as I'm not a fan of that, but the salt scrubs smelled great and were very well received...I even kept a little for myself and plan to use it tonight....
