If you want clean skin without weird chemicals, try making this inexpensive all-purpose skin cleanser: it’s pure and natural, easy on the planet, and great for your skin–and so gentle that it is ideal for even dry or sensitive complexions. Gentle exfoliating action for squeaky clean skin the simply green way!

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup ground oatmeal
1/3 cup finely ground sunflower seeds
1/4 cup finely ground almond meal
1 teaspoon powdered dried peppermint leaves or lavender flowers
Water, milk, or heavy cream, enough to moisten

1. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.

2. You will need around 2 teaspoons of the mixture for your face and throat. When ready to use, add enough liquid to form a spreadable paste. (Use water if your skin is oily, milk for normal skin, and cream for dry skin.)

3. Allow the mixture to thicken for 1 minute, then massage gently into your skin. Rinse with warm water.

4. The dry mixture will keep in the freezer for a year, or in a cool, dry place for 6 months.

I especially appreciate the storage tips -- when I actually haul everything out and mix, I'd like to make more than one batch but don't want to waste. Thank you for this recipe.

Miss World

this sounds really great! I will give it a try as I like the ingredients but might skip on the dried flowers as I'm not sure I can find them where I'm at.
