Flying is one of the worst offenders when it comes to polluting the atmosphere. But there are a few simple steps you can take to offset the negative impact of your jet trips.
1. First ask yourself: do I really need to get there on a plane? Consider alternative forms of travel first, and fly only when absolutely necessary.
2. If you must fly, at least buy electronic tickets to save energy and paper.
3. Fly on newer aircraft, which are more fuel efficient.
4. Buy credits to offset the environmental impact of your trip.

NEVER BEEN IN A PLANE.
I live in Hawaii. One has to fly to get anywhere. But, I have been planting trees for years. I pickup roadside litter.. I recycle water. I am going to Israel this October on Pilgrimage to the Baha'i World Center. I am flying on one of the new Airbuses. I hope I have off set my carbon footprint.
I've flown too infrequently. What are credits? If I don't take a vacation soon I won't be good to anybody or anything. If we have over a hundred on a one plane, isn't that better than 100 cars? I'm no scientist, I think it is.
