Flying is one of the worst offenders when it comes to polluting the atmosphere. But there are a few simple steps you can take to offset the negative impact of your jet trips.
1. First ask yourself: do I really need to get there on a plane? Consider alternative forms of travel first, and fly only when absolutely necessary.
2. If you must fly, at least buy electronic tickets to save energy and paper.
3. Fly on newer aircraft, which are more fuel efficient.
4. Buy credits to offset the environmental impact of your trip.

Interesting. I would restart this practice that I had stopped over time!
How darling :) thank you for sharing
I thought I would add *why* some birds like to be petted. Each feather grows through the skin inside…
Thank you
Thanks for the information.

+ add your ownI fly infrequently but savor the opportunity to visit daughter and family almost cross country. Driving that far is out of the question for me. Also I agree with earlier comment about effect of every passenger driving cars to the same location - especially given the typical choice of a gas guzzler vehicles. Perhaps continued research into less polluting planes and fuel - and each of us doing our bit to avoid pollution on ground (easy to point fingers, isn't it?) I drive a hybrid, recycle/reuse, try to avoid chemicals, etc. That's not patting myself on back - just like scrubbing the toilet, it's up to each of us to clean up our own mess.
do what you can
One takeoff polute the same amount as one rushhour in Oslo, Norway. BUT that was some years ago. Much more cars today, but then again there are A LOT more takeoff`s then any time before.......
